The date of the next ENO international tree planting day 


ENO Programme will be introduced in Mexico and the Caribbean 4-18 February. 

Founder Mika Vanhanen was invited to lecture at the University of Monterrey (UDEM) about Finnish education and ENO at the University's Sustainable Development Week. The trip continues to Cuba, where 80 schools have been planting ENO trees since 2007 . In Havanna, Mr Vanhanen will meet ministry people and visit schools. The final destination is the Bahamas, which made a promise to plant 10,000 trees under ENO Tree Planting Campaign. 

In the Caribbean, ENO has been spread to Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Cuba, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad Tobago. ENO trees have been planted in over 150 countries. 

This year ENO will plant fruit trees on ENO Tree Planting Day. It will take place Friday 18 May 2018. The day is also to celebrate World Bee Day,a new day approved by the United Nations. The attention of the global public will be drawn to the importance of preserving bees and other pollinators. People will be reminded of the importance of bees for the entire humanity and invited to take concrete action to preserve and protect them. The resolution was co-sponsored by 115 UN Member States, including the USA, Canada, China, the Russian Federation, India, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and all the European Union Member States. Over the past two years, the EMA ( Environmental Management Authority) has participated in the ENO’s global tree planting initiative. We were able to reach out to diverse communities, involving children and youth in tree planting to increase appreciation of the value of trees. We are proud to have been able to plant 1805 trees throughout the two islands of Trinidad and Tobago. 

In 2016, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) of Trinidad and Tobago accepter the invitation to participate 100 million trees by 2017 campaign. Same year , the EM planted 370 trees at schools through its Enviro Club Progrmme, thus empowering children and youth through tree planting. In 2017, the exercise continued with 1435 trees be
